What are typical results, & how long do they last?
Medical facials improve your skin's tone, texture, and appearance, and you may notice results immediately. Within 48–72 hours, you may notice that your skin is more hydrated and looks healthier. The results of a facial can last for several weeks, and some people see results that last longer than a month.
How do Medical Facials Work?
Innovative Health and MedSpa's Medical-grade Facial is functionally very similar to a spa facial. The only difference is the degree of strength advanced facials use to treat your skin. Before any of your facial treatments start, you will need to attend a consult with our skin expert to determine which Medical Facial best matches your skincare goals and needs. After examining the condition of your skin, and getting a general skin history, the Medical Facial treatment will be determined. The medical facial has 4 parts to it.

Microneedling Facial
A Microneedling Facial is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy. It's generally safe and minimally invasive with little to no downtime and few side effects. During the procedure, your skin is cleansed and a numbing medication is applied. A cool gel is then applied to the areas to be treated, and then the microneedling pen is passed over the skin. A treatment typically takes 15 - 30 minutes depending on the size of the area

Dermaplane Facial
Derma-planing is used to treat deep acne scars with a hand-held instrument called a dermatome. The dermatome looks like an electric razor and has an oscillating blade that moves back and forth to evenly "skim" off the surface layers of skin that surround the craters, or other facial defects.
Derma-planing can last a 15 - 60 minutes or more, depending on the size of the area of skin to be refinished. The procedure may be done more than once, or in stages. Some possible short-term side effects of Derma-planing:

The skin may be red and swollen appearing 'scraped' for several days.

Eating and talking may be difficult for a few days after the procedure.

Tingling, burning, or aching may occur.

Swelling and scabbing may occur.
As the new skin begins to grow, it may appear and feel swollen. The skin may also be sensitive and bright pink in color (lighter skin tones), which may take about 3 months to fade. Protection from the sun is very important following this type of procedure. This treatment can be enjoyed every three to four weeks to maintain a smooth, radiant appearance.

Chemical Peel
A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure. Depending on the issues you're addressing with the procedure, you'll choose a chemical peel in one of three depths:

Light Chemical Peel. A light (superficial) chemical peel removes the outer layer of skin (epidermis). It's used to treat fine wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tone and dryness. You might have a light peel every two to five weeks.

Medium Chemical Peel. A medium chemical peel removes skin cells from the epidermis and from portions of the upper part of your middle layer of skin (dermis). It's used to treat wrinkles, acne scars and uneven skin tone. You might need to repeat the procedure to achieve or maintain the desired result.

Deep Chemical Peel. A deep chemical peel removes skin cells even deeper. Your doctor might recommend one for deeper wrinkles, scars or precancerous growths. You won't need repeat procedures to get the full effect.
Deeper chemical peels offer more-dramatic results but also take longer to recover from. A light chemical peel improves skin texture and tone and lessens the appearance of fine wrinkles. The results are subtle but increase with repeated treatments. If you have a medium chemical peel, treated skin will be noticeably smoother. After a deep chemical peel, you'll see a dramatic improvement in the look and feel of treated areas. Results may not be permanent. Chemical peels can't remove deep scars or wrinkles or tighten sagging skin.

What, if any recovery time is needed?
Innovative Health and MedSpa Medical Facials are extremely safe, simple, and convenient treatments. Not only can facials be completed in under an hour, but they also have virtually zero risks of harming the skin. In fact, some of our facials are superficial treatments, considered “zero risks, all reward”.
However, our stronger medical grade facials such as Derma-planing and Chemical peels do have short downtimes. Based on the depth of the facial, downtime can be as short as 1 day, or as long as 6 weeks.
